Question 01 Tahoe 4x4 - One Tire Fire?

I was wondering if my differentiial has a problem, because it seems as if my rear end is only using my rear right side only. I dont believe these trucks came with a mono in the rear since its four by four and needs all 4 tires to turn to be such... Anyways, I also get my damn Change Engine oil light all the time and I have done oil change and new filter ect, but the damn light still comes on all the time.. Does the measurement of the oil have to be at a perfect or something?
Guy at lordco said the engine holds 5.1L Which I dont believe cause I known most v8's to hold near 6 liters. I have the 4.8L Vortec

Thanks guys and I only want the pro's answering this q.

THe oil problem is easy to fix. first off, my 5.3 takes 6 quarts. second, get in your truck and turn the key to ignition, or start (whichever one doesn't turn the truck over) and press the gas peddal 3 or 5 tiems with in 5 seconds to reset the oil light thing. i've i'm wrong, someone correct that.

look in your glove box and see if your sticker thing says "g80" on it. If it says g80, then you have a locker in the back. if it doesn't, then you have an open rear end.

O.K. got that out of my system, like the man said turn the key to acc. (last position before it starts) depress the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds then turn key off. Turn key back on and your driver information center will read "oil life monitor reset". As for the 4x4 that is a myth, the only true 4x4 would have locking differentials both front and rear, the large sticker in the glove compartment has a long list of codes in it, and G80 is the designator for a locking differential, if it's not there you don't have locker. While not everybody is a pro there are some very knowledgeable people on this forum, you might be surprised at what they know.

    i have a 4.8 it takes 6 quarts
as stated before 4x4 is a myth unless you have lockers front and rear
look for g80 on RPO list if you dont see that you have an open diff
