I have a 1982, 2500 G.M.C. suburban, 2wd. I want a 4wd. Is it possible to do a 4wd conversion, or is the design of the frame going to interfere? If the frame will not work, what about a 4wd drive frame, lift the body, pull engine, trans, everything else, and throw a different frame under. The body is in great shape, as is the interior. And this it the suburban from my childhood. That’s why I don’t want to buy a different truck. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Aaron.

It's possible to do a solid axle conversion on your truck but if you dont have a lot of fabrication skills and experience setting up suspensions you'd be better off dropping your body on a 4x4 frame.
I think either conversion would cost about the same $$.
