I'm thinking about adding a tailgate bar to the 'Burban. I thought I'd solicit your input... There are a bunch of brands out there.
I'm hoping you may have some experience to share with me....
Here are a few I've found...

Yes, I'm thinking about the same for my work truck. I need all the lighting I can get back there. I'm also looking to improve the backup lighting. I've thought about something that I could plug into the tow hitch and use the trailer plug for power. Has anybody seen anything like that?
Let me know which way you go on the tail gate light. I'll post what I get if/when I pull the trigger.

Looking for a 1990's Miata for an engine swap
The brake lights I've found actually plug in to the 4 wire trailer harness... I've not looked for backup lights, however that's a great idea...
I am considering replacing the fog lights and I'm also looking for cleaner looking headlights... On the 03 I have they are a bit dingy...

I ordered mine off of jC whitney, I like it, Double sided tape and screws. Just plug into 4 wire trailer plug. Mine doesn't have back up lights, looks good and lights up the back.

I had one on a former truck and I have nothing bad to say. The one I had, had reverse lights too. It will connect to your 4-pin trailer plug but there will also be an extra wire that you connect directly to the positve wire on your reverse light. I had the Recon white lightning bar, I will be looking for one as well for my Chevy.
I saw this one on Recon's website, amber signals and reverse. Looks intresting.

I used to have one on my old truck and it did hook up to the seven prong adapter, BUT I got an idiot in a parking lot one time that had taken his foot and jumped down on it and smashed the plug and tore up the connector. I ended up paying $100 for a replacement setup to tow my trailer, but they are super bright and you can leave it on while towing too. You have to buy the plug in adapter for another $20, but I believe this is what you are looking for.

As far as the new LOF with the scanning amber lights, there is a ton of wiring involved unlike it's simple cousin. I ordered one a few months back from Toucan and it was really involved, I ended up returning mine I didn't want any problems with my rear lights. Good luck with whatever you choose to buy........![]()
