2003 Avalanche 4x4 fix

I did a search and didn't see this so I thought it might help others.
My 2003 Avalanche with the push button 4x4 would go into 4 lo all by it's self and won't come out right away it might take 10-15 min. So I talk to a friend of mine who is the master at goof screw ups like this. The first words out of his mouth was don't laugh. Pull your 4x4 fuse and turn the key on and off 5 times don't start it just turn it to the on postion and back to the off position 5 times then put the fuse back in and try your 4x4 push buttons. It worked, he said it reset the 4x4 computer. His opinion is, "in todays world with all cell phones, garage door openers, Radio waves it scambles the poor little computer's mind and it needs reset". I don't know if that true but it fixed my truck and haven't had a problem in 2 years.

Great info thanks, I gave to dealer and lost truck for 2 days & some $$. They reset computer.

I'll have to remember this when my 4x4 computer gets "confused".
