First project on this truck... couldn't get them to look like new, but they're definitely better! The pictures don't show how yellowed they really were. I kind of just used the products I had around and made a procedure out of it, tell me what you think:
1. Wet sand w/ 2000 grit
2. Claybar
3. Fine-cut polish
4. Layer of wax
Here's after sanding the driver's side, in comparison to the passenger
Driver's headlight "finished" (not really, I really hoped it would turn out better!)
Pass side untouched... yuck

Pass side done
Both sides finished
I was sure hoping they'd turn out better. But I'll be getting a porter cable soon, and hopefully that with some rubbing compound can get a shine out of them. At least the light output will be better, and the pictures don't really show how much better it looks in person.
Any suggestions?

I don't know that seems like an awful lot of screwing around, I think maybe once you buff them out that will make a huge difference. I think for what you did there I could see a difference, they looked like they were frosted before and now you don't see that fog any more. I don't know anything about Suburban's but aren't the diamond projectors pretty cheap for these trucks, I don't mean with all of the extra's just the plain diamond cut headlights. Keep us posted with your progress,![]()
