Put a shift kit in the transmission and check the rear gears then maybe get a blower and drop on there just for spits and giggles

Really check out a new torque converter and the rear gear ratio, talk to a shop that knows what you got and they can come up with a good combo to get the torque to the wheels.

Here is a video about horses and torque

I'm not sure about the 96 I have seen them for newer ones there are some folks who know more about that than I here so I will defer to them.

i would put a bbk throttle body huge difference you can also put in roller rockers and some beefed up valve springs for a bigger boost there are a few cylinder heads you can also bolt on for a real motor wake up depends on time and money or how far you are willing to go into the motor

    Torque off the line eh....

    GEARS!

You can mess around with a programmer...unless you have a diesel, you aren't going to see too much of a difference in the HP/FT-LBS

TBS.....$90 bolt on part...whistles...gets annoying...it does slightly increase throttle response slightly....don't get your hopes up.
