    Default Electrical Question

I'm blowin' fuses on my Stop Lights and Turn Signals and my stereo (92 Original) turns on but no soudn comes out and none of the controls work. I don't know if the two are connected but any help on either would be cool.

    Thanks

    HM

For the stop lights and turn signals, it sounds like you have a short.

The FIRST place to look is around your tow lights. Look at and around the wire plug where you plug in a trailer and inspect those wires well. Make sure all those wires have a good insulation coat still. I think those are on a separate fuse, but not sure.

Second place to look would be the around the lights in the back. Have a look at the wires and make sure they are all without burns, tears, or otherwise compromised insulation. With the lights unplugged go through the routine of hitting the brake, turning on the turn signals, etc. See if that pops your fuse still. If it doesn't you may have weeded the wiring out of your search.

Do you know if the fuse pops for only the left of right turn signal? That might help you determine what side you are wanting to focus on.

    Anyone else?

You should be able to unplug the rear lights all at once with a connector behind the bumper. That will help your troubleshooting. As for the radio, is that the funky one that is all push buttons and the LCD display? My 89 used to give me trouble occasionally. You can try spraying some electrical contact cleaner around the buttons. I used to have to hit the buttons really hard sometimes.
