There is a guy who I've chatted with in the past who was instrumental in getting the red light cameras removed from college station Texas. I'll see if I can't get his help with this.

Good luck Steve! That is one reason I am not looking to leave Pennsylvania. Here we don't have many red light cameras and we do not have speed cameras that I am aware of

Looks like Florida has increased the state minimum yellow light duration time because of an investigation into red light camera intersections having very short yellow lights.

There is something seriously wrong with a system whereby the red light camera operators have a financial incentive in causing people to run red lights via deception.

    Wow. Just wow.

Red light cameras generated more than $100 million in revenue last year in approximately 70 Florida communities, with 52.5 percent of the revenue going to the state. The rest is divided by cities, counties, and the camera companies. In 2013, the cameras are on pace to generate $120 million.

Here's an official publication from 2003 discussing yellow light duration in Texas with a recommendation to increase yellow light durations by 0.5 to 1.5 seconds.

Looks like this is a nationwide problem.

It's a different one. Seems these studies are showing a dramatic increase in the number of red light tickets being issued. If you try to time mine, which is hard to do, but it looks like it's sub-3.5 seconds. The wife said she constantly has to make a decision between punching it or slamming on the brakes.
