PO131 trouble code

Once in awhile I get a code in my truck (01 ) silverado 5.3, of PO131. Black smoke comes out the exhaust,and runs rough. When this happens it just lasts for a few minutes and quits and runs normal. Can somone point me in the right direction please?

Welcome to the site. P0131 is telling you that the computer is reading a low voltage on your O2 sensor on the drivers side, closest to the engine. (Bank 1, sensor 1). You can try swapping the sensor to the same position on the other side and see if the code follows it (you will get a P0151 if it does). If it does then the sensor needs to be replaced.
