    Default going to try and put a new trans filter toaday. [Expired Topic]

    still have not figured out what the noise is, so i'm going to try and chang ethe trans filter today. changed all the other fluids. hope this will help. so far i feel i made a good purchase. tell you all how it goes.

    well i did it. i changed the filter and put in a plug at the same time. so in the future i will just drain and fill, it took me two hours to do the whole thing. i put mble 1 in the trans and am very happy with the end process. the noise is gone. it feels better and did i say the noise is gone. Also when i took the pan down there was a magnit on the inside with alot of silver stuff. i talked to some guy i know and he said this is normal. since it looks like it might have never been changed.

    Yeah, both are common (to have a magnet and to have some shavings collected to it). Two hours isn't too bad of a job.

    drain plug makes draining easier to change the filter, no need for such a large drain pan. but never just drain without changing filter.
