Default Problems in 4WD 1996 Chevrolet Silverado

My 96 1/2 ton works really good changing from:

    2hi to 4 hi
    4 hi to 2 hi
    2hi to neutral
    neutral to 4 lo
    4 lo to neutral

but when trying to engage from neutral to 2hi its grinding and I dont know why.

This is normal. Once you select neutral your main shaft is spinning and it's not synchronized. So if you are in neutral turn the engine off and shift it. Otherwise shift through neutral quickly and you won't grind.
