When I first start my Suburban, the gas pedal is difficult to press. It won't move at all, until I use some force to "free" it. Then it's just fine for the remainder of the time I'm driving, whether it's only a few miles or a few hundred miles. But if I stop and shut the engine off, sure enough when I re-start it, it's stuck again. Any ideas on what might cause this, and how to remedy it?

try cleaning behind the throttle body plate with carb cleaner. my olds cutlass does this somtimes. i usaually just spray some lube where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body. it works for a while. the combination of the two should solve ur problem.

I had that happen on an 89 Suburban and it turned out to be the throttle cable. I put a new one on and it worked fine.

sounds like a sticky throttle plate, get a good throttle plate cleaner and a old tooth brush and clean the plate and throttle body

Two 8in RF HX2 punch( would have 12s but they got stolen)

Cleaning will be cheaper so start there, if no change then its time for a new throttle cable, they are pretty easy to change, as long as you can twist yourself up to get it on to the gas pedal

I started by cleaning the throttle plate yesterday, and it's noticeably better. Thanks for all the ideas.
