    Default Brake Drum Size

Without removing the rear wheel is there a way to tell whether I have 10" or 11" drums?

If the Max diameter is stamped into the drum in a convenient place, and you can see through the gaps in the wheel, and one of those gaps is in a convenient place, then you would be able to read the max diameter off the drum without removing a wheel. Otherwise, the easiest (and most of the time quickest) way to find out is to pull a wheel and see what is stamped into the drum,

Murphy's Law says if there are 2 choices you will always get the wrong one, <G> Another reason to pull the wheels is you may need a hardware kit and if you don't pull the wheels,, you will need wheel cylinders for sure!

I changed the front brakes an now I want to take care of the rear. I pulled a wheel and I did not see a 10 or 11. I did find a part number 15588223. I googled the number but could not find out which size. Any guesses? I held up a tape and I am guessing that they are 10' drums.....just want to confirm.

You can also measure the thickness of the drum. There is over 1/4" difference in thickness between the 10" & the 11" shoes. The 10" x 2.24". The 11" x 2-3/4".
