Default Silverado LT Default A/C Controls

I have a 2009 Silverado Z71 LT - and I have a question regarding the default setting on the A/C controls.

I like to have the A/C air flow on recirculate, but whenever I turn the truck off the control deafuatls back to the fresh air setting. I know this seems minor, but I was hoping there is a way to make the recuculate mode the default upon startup.

I have run several searchesin the forum and did not find anything on this issue.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Default

I don't think I've seen anyone do this on any forum either. Most A/C systems default to fresh air because the A/C system works better and provides cooler air in the fresh air mode. Also keeping your A/C in the recirculate mode will promote mold and mildew contamination which makes for some stinky air when you first start up the A/C.

    welcome to the site

and i know that with my truck if you crack the window with the fresh air it pushes the hot air out the window and brings cold air in its place, then once it is cold i switch it to recirculate

Thanks for the repsonses. What I was hoping for was to find someone who had switched a wire or repogramed something.

As to defaulting to the recirculating mode - I am in and out of rent cars weekly and almost all of the cars i am in start back where you left them when you turned the car off. This has also been the case for other cars that i own/owned (ford, acura, vw, porsche, dodge).

If anyone has 'cracked the code' i would appreciate it!
