    Default New truck owner

    Greetings,

My name is Solus. And I am an addict LOL J/k

I had a 1997 pontiac firebird formula WS6. I sold it and bought my first truck. Pictures coming soon.
The truck has 199xxx miles on it. But it was certified with rebuilt engine, a brand new clutch, heavy duty throwout bearing, brand new flywheel, fork, oil filter housing, some bearing bushing thing and a totally rebuilt 5 speed manual Getrag transmission. All wrapped up in a 3 year full service warranty.

I purchased the truck for $3900.00 That's not bad at all. So I am getting used to driving it. She's a good truck, took her to the mountains the other day and had a blast. The tires have about 8 months tread left in them and need replacement soon. Tire size, P265/70/17. So I thought I would say hello and how is everyone doing. Perhaps you will see more of me.

    king cab short bed z71.

I read the types that you all have, and that's giving me some ideas. I'm not all that mechanically inclined. I know what a carb. is and the most common basics, But maybe this is a dumb question, What are headers and what exactly do they do?

My engine is a 5.7 liter V8. Carburetor is a 2 barrel. Would a 4 barrel be better? I want some better performance out of my truck, but I don't want to lose any fuel mileage either. I plan on getting a cold air intake system, (or something similar) and I want to change the exhaust. I have a shirt that says "Loud Pipes Saves Lives" I kinda liked that when I had my firebird. So I plan on using that for the basis for the type of exhaust I want to switch to. But I don't want it to sound like someone is revving their Harley either lol.

Wow a WS6! Now I have heard some of those cars that sound really wicked, as a matter of fact there is a yellow and black convertible around where I live that is really hopped up engine wise. Welcome to the club, and hopefully someone can help you out with the header question because I have never had them before.
