Thread: 4 Wheel Drive

    Default 4 Wheel Drive

I've read a few posts on switching from 2wd to 4wd and had a question. My Sub is an 86 c20 with towing package. Would there still be a lot of fabrication involved or is a complete axle swap doable? Thanks in advance for any responses.

You would need to swap your front axle, transmission and add a transfer case, 2 drive lines, crossmember. Quite a bit of work.

I would by a 4x4 and use the best of both to make one good truck. I have seen quite a few here in NY for pretty cheap. Good luck.
