Thread: RPMs sticking

    Default RPMs sticking

I have a 1992 Silverado, 4.3 Liter V6, everytime I rev the engine, the RPMs stick for a good one or two seconds. Any idea to why the RPMs are sticking and anything I can do to fix that?

    Default Had the same problem...

I had the same problem in my 91 Silverado and it ended up being a frayed throttle cable. I put a throttle body spacer on my truck and stretched the cable and it got caught up in the pastic tube. Is the pedal sometimes hard to push down at first too then once u get it past that certain point its fine? Look into it hope that helps. I replaced my cable now everything is fine
