    I think the problem with AFM as a whole is the highway speeds of today. When I had AFM activated and was cruising at highway speeds (let's say 65 for shiggles) I spent far more time in 8 cyl mode than I did in 4 cyl mode. I think there ought to be a software update for that, but I hate most things electronic anyway.

    I agree with what hot rod was saying( i think). On my truck it seems that tha AFM kicks it into 8 cylinders a little too early sometimes. Like when driving on fairly flat roads and barely picking up the throttle, it almost instantly goes to 8.

    kinda makes me glad i have a 05. dont have these issues.

    corse my mileage may suffer a bit for it, but thats ok, i bought a truck not a car.

    well here is my discovery i installed a diablo predator on the diablo tune setting,i use 91 octane fuel my truck has 31" tires, i shut off the afm,set the tire size, shut off the speed limiter and the truck gets 21 mpg...... it is a 2008 silverado 4x4 ec/sb with a 5.3l 4l60 trans and 3.73 gears.... i just plug and play so this is real world.the truck has a magnaflow catback and a drop in k and n filter no other mods..........yet. hehehehe. hope you guys find this info useful!!
