Replace Shocks 2000 Suburban?

I have recently bought a used (140K miles) 2000 Suburban and I think that it needs shocks on both ends. I'd like to do it myself and have good floor jack, impact wrenches, etc.

I have couple of questions:

1. How easy is it to DIY replace shocks front and rear?

2. What are GOOD quality shocks to use for stock application for this vehicle?

I Replaced the shocks on my Truck,not hard at all.As far as a Good Shock there are many.I would look at Bilsten,Monroe,Rancho,KYB,Edelbrock,to name a few.It depends on how much you are looking to spend and What you will be using your ride for,will you be towing,going off road,or use as a Daliy Driver.

a good tip is to have a pair of good vise grip pliers to lock on the rod when removing the top nut if its 2wd , 4x4's have a different setup and its much simpler just a bolt up top that you take take out and same on bottom

Replacementshocks.com has awesome OEM replacement shocks for a very affordable price. As far as installation as long as you have the right tools as you said floor jack, impact, etc. The install is very easy just as simple as jacking it up removing some bolts and installing the new shocks. Many of the shock companies offer instructions online. I put a link below for a selection of stock replacements for your vehicle.

IMO Go with Bilstein's

I like monroe (cheaper but very good) or bilstein (better but more expensive) and shocks are nice easy and straight forward to replace(there is always exceptions). Don't cut the strap on the new shock until you have it lined up though, otherwise it gets very difficult to manuever it while trying to compress the cylinder.
