    Default Shocks opinion

Do any of you out there have a preference on shocks for your trucks? My 97 is getting due for them and I need something relatively cheap that will work well with maintaining my smooth ride but be good towing too.
    Any suggestions?

In other vehicles that I have had both cars and trucks I have been happy with monroe shocks. Usually not too expensive.

I have had personally good results and heard good things about both Skyjacker shocks and Bilstein shocks. They both are very affordable and long lasting.

I think Bilstiens are best but they are more expensive than Monroes (depending on which model you get) . I've had both and was happy with both but I think the Bilstiens are best. IMO

yeah im on my way to getting some bilsteins. the truck was debadged when i got it and i assumed it was a z71 but checked and it isnt. So with the 4x4 version all im missing is the bilstein shocks and skid plate. anyone know of any cheap sites to get some bilstein shocks and can the average person just install them?
