I have owned Suburbans continuously since 1972. Every one was a winner with my '95 GMC 2500, 454, going to 495,000 miles without burning any oil! My question to the forum is what was the last year for the standard ignition system before they went to the electronic ignition system? I think it was 1985 but would want to see what you think. I am looking for an eight generation- '73 to '85- K20 or K2500 with the diesel or 454 and 4WD without any rust to restore and keep. At 68 I have the time and the shop and want a bullet-proof suburban.
