Hey there,

Just bought an 06 Silverado, extended cab, long bed (i think), Z71 Off Road, towing package, 5.3L, Chevy bed liner with aftermarket tonneau cover, about 50K on it. Looks like it has never towed anything or been off road. Truck is in real good shape.

I bought it mainly to tow my Z06 to the track and for my wife to use during the week for her business.

I've towed a 20ft boat before with a Cherokee but this should be interesting towing the car.

I do almost all my own work on my cars so the Silverado won't be an exception to that rule.

Thanks, I'll post pictures of the truck as soon as I find the digital camera. I cleaned it up the other day and put a quick coat of Zaino on it. The previous owner took good care of it. The paint felt kind of slippery, not, dragging my hand. I'll clay bar it and start from scratch when I have time.

Right now I have to drain a bit of oil out of it. The dealer who did the oil change on it got a little carried away. The air filter is dirty and I have a K&N for it that I have to pick up. I'll try and resist too many mods to this beast. I already spent enough on my Z06. I'd just like to help the Silverado get better gas mileage. My wife has a Monte Carlo that she loves. It needs some work. So I will take it off the road and fix it up. She'll drive the Silverado for a bit while I fix the Monte. Suprisingly she drove the truck when I tried it out and said no problem. She can drive it as long as she needs too. Cool.
