    Default Torque specs

    Hey guys,

    I need the torque specs for the Idler pulley and the tensioner on a 1999 suburban 5.7.

    Thanks

    i go like this

    ratchet tightening i say click then i know it tight enough

    1/4 turn past stripped.

    just kidding

    from procedure book.

    To Remove:



    1. Remove the drive belt.
    2. Remove the tensioner mounting bolt.
    3. Remove the drive belt tensioner assembly.
    To Install:
    1. Position the tensioner on the engine.
    2. Install the mounting bolt.
      • Tighten to 37 ft lbs (50 Nm)
    3. Install the drive belt.
    To Remove:



    1. Remove the drive belt.
    2. Remove drive belt idler pulley bolt.
    3. Remove drive belt idler pulley.
    To Install:
    1. Install drive belt idler pulley and bolt.
      • Torque to: 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm)
    2. Install the drive belt.

    Tighten it to german specs: Gutentight! And remember, cross-threaded bolts hold better than thread-locker!
