I worked at dealerships and believe me the techs that worked there would never steal a manual. We relied on those manuals to make our paycheck every week. But that was back in the day.

you can go to part source or a part store like that and they have manuals you can look at, for future reference, and you can also go there and get your codes read for free.

The best and most complete wiring diagrams would be in a GM Factory Service Manual set for your year/model vehicle, which you can order from a GM dealer or from helminc.com.

These, in addition to showing the wiring diagrams, show locations of everything electrical on the vehicle, harness routing, locations of connectors and each gizmo, then lists what each connection is for on each connector, gives pin numbers, wire colors, etc. (very detailed). Also explains how each gizmo/sensor/whatever works.

And for newer vehicles these sets of books can be 6000 pages long, and have complete detailed troubleshooting instructions for everything on the vehicle including electrical troubleshooting instructions.

They cost around $135.00 for a set, but you get what you pay for!
