Default How do i tell if my truck is prewired for fog lights?

I have a 2000 silverado, just wondering how i know if i am prewired or not. I found a kit on ebay and wondering if its the right thing i should be looking for. Any feedback welcome, thanks.

look under the truck, where the fog lights would be and look for any connectors not plugged in, make sure there is the same one on both sides

im pretty sure every truck is, they just dont have the switch, you also have to get the truck programed at the dealer for the fog lights.

Usually these have the wiring to the lights, a fuse, a relay, and wiring to the switch.

With newer vehicles, the switch may go to a computer module and the lights would be activated by another computer module. And as said above, these would have software settings for what is installed.

To learn how the system works, be able the check for what is installed and what is not, the location of all these things, etc. you would need a GM factory service manual set which would include *complete* wiring diagrams.

Usually you could figure out the connection to the lights in front and the location of the switch by looking in your owner's manual, but the "in-between stuff" can be impossible to find without a wiring diagram.
