Thread: Dash light conversion to LED
12-03-2011, 01:00 AM #31
No problem. I agree it makes a great difference. I want to eventually swap everything to LEDs on my avalanche, but I need to get some good LEDs first (the eBay ones I used on my Silverado kept burning out). I'd probably be at that project for a really long time though.... Everything including the gauge lights are soldered on in the 03+ trucks, and there's 17 million different switches in this truck with the power windows, 4WD, seat heaters and memory, etc. etc. My old truck was easy to do without all the extra switches.

I've had real good luck with "Superbright LED's" which are mil-spec. grade LED's. No problems to date. It's never really finished...and faster is always better.

Vision X has some outstanding LEDs. When we do our conversions at the shop that's who we go through. They have a wide angle so the light imaging is pretty good. The part number you want is HIL-SLW. In acouple weeks I'll Attach more pics to my big built thread part 2. It will show my door switches and parking light switch which is all I have left! Check out the thread to see the HVAC conversion with digital display
