Keyless entry remote problem

I can get my key less entry remote to program but it will not hold the program. It has the automatic start up. Where you can start it from the outside. So I dont have the original 97 keyless entry remote. I got it programed and everything worked, door locked and unlocked ,the start and stop button worked but it only lasted for about an hour. Then its like it just lost its program. (and it does have new batteries). Any suggestions of whats wrong or what Im doing wrong?

So far as starting, there are quite a bit of things which must be just right for the vehicle to allow you to do this. And I think you can only attempt to start it a couple of times, then need to start it with the key. Then can start it with the remote again.

So re-read your owner's manual to be sure everything on the vehicle is as it should be.

Then radio interference can be a problem. Might want to see if this happens at another location or not...

Other than the above, the module in your vehicle could be bad. But check the above first before taking for service.

So you have an aftermarket remote starter and keyless entry? I would say your interface module is shot.

I have the factory keyless entry with a after market remote starter, yes. Where would the interface module be located? Thanks

I have an issue as well. I have three different fob one is the original and I cant get any of them to synch up. I can get the door locks to cycle after letting go of the unlock button but when I hold the lock and unlock button on the fob it never cycles again. I put in new batteries in all three and nothing. I have remote start as well.

I have ordered a factory tahoe remote fob hopefully I can program that for the locks but I would like to get the remote start working too, before long
