Many thanks.

I just did the brakes on my 05' Silverado, and the caliper bolts were a T55 Torx head bolt. Just a little FYI if you don't want to reuse those rusty Torx head bolts, go to the auto parts store and buy a new set of bolts. It will cost you $7.00 for a set of two, but they are a standard 3/4 bolt instead of that screwy torx bolt. We ended up replacing all of mine with the new style, and I am much happier with the new one's.
BTW- The Chevy dealers replace the Torx bolts with the standard one's also.
Thanks for posting that. I was looking at the brakes on the truck and saw the torx head. Was wondering about just replacing them with a standard head. Torx are a pain. I have to pull 3 of them to replace wheel bearings in my car. I have a full set of torx sockets just due to the oddball places GM decided to use them in the cars.

Not a problem, I actually was digging through my pictures and found the comparison shots. We never would have known that they even made these replacement bolts, if it wasn't for the fact that we had one strip out on us. What a bad design on GM's part, and as you said it is always in the worst place to have them too. Notice in the second picture how the new bolts are slightly longer, that proved no problem in the installation but the guy at the auto parts store said that if you had little clearance with aftermarket wheels you might have to grind the top of it down a little bit. Good luck with your brake job.
