I purchased this 87 Silverado last weekend. The original paint is terqouise.. a much lighter blue than what it was painted a few years back
Anybody every seen this color on a Chevy? Might it be a standard color? Seller had no idea. Thanks.

I had a 1969 3/4 ton that was close to that color.I shouldn't have gotten rid of it. It was the easiest vehicle I have ever had to work on.
my mom had an old 1990 GMC Safari that was really close to that color, if not that color.

I'll keep my money, guns, and freedom. You keep the Change.
It does not appear to be this electric blue.
And it's not this either.
How retarded would it be if they chose some random non-gm color. that would totally suck. When I was searching for a truck I really wanted Black. Black is so easy to deal with.
That is a indigo blue and if I am not mistaken tat is the original color the door paint has prob just faded. I like it.

This looks too light. It's much darker than that.
This is closer (Electric Blue) .. but I don't think it's it either.
I'd say its closer to this:
Paint always looks different on a new car from factory.. but I think they might have used Dark Metalic Blue from 2006.
The paintjob is Okay.. not surehow old it is.. but they must of done a terrible job sealing rust cause it's poping out in places. I wonder if I wanted to paint another blue if I'd have to strip down to metal.

The close up of the door looks like an aftermarket paint job. I see a good amount of oxidation and the metallice flake - all of which make me think it was a one coat polyurethane job. They go on and look great but if you don't keep up on the waxes thet tend to oxidise fast. I have seen GM trucs with a similiar color before but I can't say for sure.
Let us know if you find out for sure. If you can't find any orange peel it might be the original.

It's definitely not the original. The original is Turqouise ( a very light blue).
I think i do see a clear coat in places.

Thanks.
I found the color.. it's GM Cadet Blue from 1999. Paint guy looked at it under a microscope and big light.. that's definitley it. Astro Vans came in this color. $20 for spray can.
