security lock system
I recently bought a 2001 Silverado 1500. It has a security lock system installed, but it didn't come with a remote. I went to the dealer and was told that it could be one of two different types. He said that I would have to look at the security box itself to find out what number was on it before they could program another remote. Could anyone tell me where I can find this "box" and how I can get to it?

Your going to need to describe what your "security lock system" does???
What is the GM name for this system?
Vehicle Theft Deterrent?
Content Theft Deterrent?
And *specifically* what is the name of the electronic module or device you are looking for?
BCM - Body Control Module?
Key Lock Cylinder?
(There can be 25 to 80 different electronic modules on a modern vehicle...)92 GMC Sierra 2500
