I dont care for raised white letters on a P/U or Suv. I usually mount the letters inside out of site or i Use Millers Tire paint. works great to cover white lettering and lasts.

The truck has white letter on it now but will be changed to blackwall. Not turned in but a real blackwall inside and outside.

As posted earlier in the thread by Nick, it depends on the setup..but overall I go with black out...My stock tires were white out and they looked good but after awhile and a lot of washing the white letters began to show their age. to be fair my tires were a little over 4 years old, low mileage though. I know most normal and high mileage tires wont last 4 or more years...

My 07 currently has less than 25k on it..but will be my daily driver soon...

On my truck, I like the black. The 96 Silverado I had, it was always white. I can't really explain the preference. Maybe it's just my taste changing.

Raised white letters would have been my choice if it had been there but given the choices I have to say black side out. Whitewalls are to old fashioned for a truck. Maybe okay for a Buick or an old Oldsmobile.

I hate cleaning the white letters, so black wall for me.

For me, it depends on the vehicle. Some of my vehicles have been Blackwallers:

While others have screamed "White LETTERS!""

They are EASy to keep clean... Some Westley's Bleche-Wite or Purple Power is all you need!
