    Default wheel spacers

hey guys, just put on 2" lift, about to buy new tires and rims, prob. going to go with 285/75's Thinking about buying wheel spacers, not sure how thick yet possibly a 2" spacer, just wondering if this is something that I can get this off like ebay, or if I need to go with a profecional brand, both are made from t6061 and if there's any problems that it causes in the long run -thanks for the advice

Why do you want wheel spacers? If it is to widen the stance you can achieve the same by getting a rim with the proper offset. Better to do that than put added strain on your wheel bearings. Also you have to worry about six more lugs per wheel staying tight.

Moving the centerline of your tires outward increases strain on the wheel bearings. Doesn't matter if you you use wheel spacers or change your offset. Having said that, I would feel better with proper wheels than using spacers.

Ditto here.. do not put wheel spacers on your truck. Even a 1" spacer can cause bearing problems. I've machined hundreds of wheel spacers for hot rods, even high HP rods but they are willing to pay me for my services. I just shake my head as they peel off Franklins. I've done a lot of rotor or carrier hole pattern changes as well but there's no spacer involved.

Bottom line as mentioned below, buy the proper wheel offset. You may have to choose a narrower rim so the offset isn't outward, but you'll be happier long term. I don't think a 285/75 will fit without trimming some plastic on just a 2" lift.

hey thanks, not sure if I'm still going to do it or not, now that I realize the possible issue's with the wheel bearings, thanks for the help
