update on my '89 [Expired Topic]
got the reman alternator put on last night, (cleaned the wire ends too) have battery in place. I plan to give the battery cable ends another cleaning before re connecting
it has sat since last sunday afternoon,is there a special starting procedure I should follow since it's set several days? or start it as I normally would?

Should be fine to just start. I'd give it a little time to warm up, and not just drive off right away.Patrick

well, got it running, fired up on first try
gauge shows it charging about 14 volts, drops to about 13-13.25 volts with lights/radio/heater fan on. so, looks like I'm good to go !!

Nothing like a good and quick repair to go smoothly and produce instant results. I replaced an alternator about 6 months ago and was very pleased that it just started to work properly when completed!
