31x12.5 on stock 15x8 2wd 87 C10?

Anybody know..

87 C10 2wd. will 31x12.5 on stock Rally 15x8 rub or have issues with brakes in the way? Currenly running 31x10.5 (basically an 1 inch out in both directions.

I would think the 12.50s would be too wide for the stock 8 inch rims. I had 275/60/15 tires on 8 inch rims and wore out the center of the tires due to the tires being too wide and the center of the tread "bubbled" up and it wore out too fast, according to the shop I got the tires from. Just my opinion. Sorry for the rambling.

I think you're going to be okay. But double check the tire manufacturers recommendations. I just put some 31/10.50 on 8.25 in rims. I was surprised how wide the rim looked.

Preston, your tire wear problem was much more likely to be due to overinflation. I ran 265/75/16 on stock 6.5 rims with no problem.

Yeah, Maybe you're right. Tire shop probably over inflated them. That was back in my younger years when I was gullible, lol
