    Default Adding Power Door Locks

I want to add remote door locks to my truck ('04 2500HD). This may be a stupid question but how many remote receivers do I need? One for each door or will one receiver transmit the info to each actuator?

Are you adding power door lock motors and the wireless remote, or are you wanting to add a wireless remote to your OEM power door locks?

They are manual doors so I would have to be adding the harness, actuator and receiver. Nothing fancy - just a way to unlock/lock remotely.

i was thinking about adding power windows and locks in mine but i didnt know how much of a paint it would be. i was thinking just grabbing doors off a wrecked truck out of a junk yard and replace mine. hook up the harness and then paint the truck. but i didnt know how possible it was.

all you need to do is go to your local car audio shop and tell them what you want to do. all your gonna need is a keyless entry system and 2 acuators (one for each door). thats it. just dont let them up sell you!! good luck man....

good advice here, I would agree with it myself. this would be your easiest and cheapest route to go. putting the aftermarket keyless entry in it with the actuators would be much easier than trying to get a factory one off of a wrecked truck or something and get key fobs for it too. save the head aches and follow the above advice and you'll be much better off and get to keep all of your hair in the process.

Go to a reputable shop. I had it installed in a 93 I had. I purchased a remote start and locks and got a really good deal on both. Something to think about if you don't have remote start since they will be taking things apart to install the locks anyway.
