    Default stuck brake

My truck had the right front caliper stick yesterday. The calipers and everything were all installed new about 2 years ago, so what is the likely culprit? Could a brake hose be collapsing or is the claiper just junk?

if you bought the cheeper calipers it could be that, i have never had a problem with the mid to higher end calipers, i would take that side apart and look closely as the pads slides the caliper and hose make sure that you can still push the caliper piston in if you can i don't believe that's your problem,
I would replace the hoses as maintenance and flush your brake fluid

Just and FYI i would never put cheep parts in to a vehicle if you do you are just asking for trouble they don't last long and are poorly made

I had goodyear/gemini do all the work, so it is whatever type of parts they use that has failed. I lubed the caliper slides, but that has not helped. I don't have much money to work with right now, so I need cheap parts unfortunately.:( I can get the brake to unlock rather easily by prying on it slightly with a crowbar. I will go out now and try compressing the piston with a c clamp and see how easily it goes in.

well, it sure didn't compress to easily. I had to use a wrench on the c clamp in order to turn it and press the piston in. I guess i'm gonna bite the bullet and just go get a new caliper and try that.

What is your guys opinion? The hose and the caliper cost the same price and the caliper only has about 20K miles on it since replacement by goodyear. I've had hoses collapse before and after sitting here thinking about it, I'm leaning towards the hose now.

Crack the banjo bolt on the caliper and see if it goes back any more easily. If it does, hose is gone.
