Default Memory test for old timers...

How many bumper sizes were there for the 70's - 80's trucks?

More specifically, will the back bumper from my 75 Jimmy fit on my 85 G series van?

I'll head out to the farm with my tape measure and torch when I get time, but you guys are here now

    Thanks,

I would think it would fit, but don't know for sure. You might research on LMC, see if the part numbers are the same. The van frame might be a different width, so the brackets might not line up.
When you hear hoofbeats, look for horses not zebras.

If my memory serves me, the Jimmy's frame is wider at the rear than the van. They did this to be able to put the 30 gal. gas tank back there. I might be wrong (wouldn't be the first time), but I know the Blazer I had was that way. Good luck.

    Thanks, guys.

I didn't make it out there today, but I still have time. I'll look at LMC. I was on some parts site last night and tried the number matching game, but LMC is a better source.

I want to shorten the bumper on D Bus about two inches - and my wife rolled her eyes. If the Jimmy bumper has the same mounts, I'll save some cost by cuttin' that one up.

The bumper is the correct style and width but the bumper brackets are different. As pointed out the Jimmy's frame is wider, you need to use the vans bumper brackets on the Jimmy's bumper.

    Sweet. Thanks, Tim.

I'll do some pics when I get to this project.
