my rpms surege between 40-50 mph please help
What year/model/engine/transmission? Do you have a tach, and the guage is moving, or can you hear the engine surge, or both? And how much variance in RPM do you have?

2COR517,
I had a similar problem w/ my 96 Blazer. All I did was add more transmission fluid and it's worked fine ever since. Check the tranny fluid and if it's low, that's your problem.
Good luck.
Glad you got everything taken care of

I presume you checked the ATF. Can you give a little more info? What driving conditions, hills, flat, etc. Throttle position. If you speed up to say 70, does it stop?

It could be the torque converter locking and unlocking. A bad brake switch can do this. To determine if it's the converter or not drive it at 45 MPH and when it starts surging press the brake pedal down about 1 or 2 inches. Just enough to turn on the brake light but not hard enough to apply the brakes. This will unlock the converter. IF it quits surging then you have found the problem. If it doesn't quit you can at least rule out the torque converter.
