Clunk in Front End?
I have a 2008 Chev Colorado Z71. I just purchased it in Jan 09. In the past 30 days it has spent more time at my dealership then in my drive way. I have had it to them 3 times for the same problem and they can not seem to determine the cause...
I have a clunking in the front end(that's where is seems like). The clunk only happens when turning the wheels. It does not occur when driving straight. The clunk can be replicated during high or low speeds, it does it in 4 wheel drive as well. It almost sounds to me like, when I turn the wheel, something clunks or slips into place and when the wheels are straightened, slips back. The noise is very audiable. I can not inderstand why they can not fix it.
Any suugestion or anyone else having this problem?

My '04 Suburban does the same thing (since new), and has been to the dealer for this problem.
They installed a new steering shaft, but that didn't stop the noise.
The noise doesn't seem to cause a problem, other than minor aggravation.......I simply turn the volume up on the radio and ignore it."I Hate When That Happens!"

Colorado/Canyon clunking in front end
Had a clunking years ago with a new 96 S-10 Blazer. After several trips to dealer found two front body mounts loose. That was it.

I have had a similar problem since new...08 Colorado... It usually happens when it is cold out (below 35f?) Backing and turning or fwd while turning up to 10-15mph I get a clunking in the right front wheel area. I can make it do it by rocking the truck back and forth at slow speeds while going straight ahead as well. The noise goes away or is less after driving it some.
The dealer said it was the knuckle hitting the frame and was "normal"?? I think that's a load of b.s. and am going to take it to another dealer. Problem is my original dealer where I bought the truck is Out of business.
I'll post if I find anything more out!
