Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with this quick change oil valve? I think their website is http://fumotousa.com/
I'm thinking of replacing my oil drain plug with one of these valves. Any thoughts?

I been trying to make the same decision. Something about it makes me nervous...

looks interesting my only fear would be it getting snagged by something while your driving atleast the drain plug doesnt really stick out.as far as that little guy does. I think that fear would override the two seconds it could save me on unscrewing the plug.

I spend to much time offroad to trust it. It only takes a couple of turns of a wrench to remove the factory plug. Better safe than easy!!!

There's 3 problems with that valve.
1. It won't get all the oil out.
2. You loose your magnet which is important.
3. It can be tampered with without any tools.

I've had two experiences with them:
1. I had a small leak on my Suburban, a slight build up of oil that wasnt enough to cause a drip but left residual oil at the port. I returned it and was given a replacement that sits in my garage to this day.
2. The second problem was on a Rock Crawler, while climbing a ridge a tree limb slid inside the skid plate and knocked the handle open, luckily a bystander saw oil leaking and I shut down the engine in time to prevent damage.
After those two instances I decided it really wasnt to much of a problem to get a wrench under the truck to take off the oil pan plug.

Wouldnt trust one. Like stated above, wouldnt have faith in it as for offroading, all I picture is middle of nowhere with empty oil pan. Yes, I carry extra oil, but thats not the point.![]()

If it was a good idea some auto manufacturer would have offered it. Too big a liability under any circumstances.
