    Default Neutral safety switch replacement

I have a 2000 Silverado, auto and I'm about to replace the neutral safety switch. I noticed there are two bolt holes that are elongated to hold it to the trans and will allow the swtch to rotate a bit. Does anyone know if I have to adjust the switch once installed? Never had to replace one in all my 65 years so I'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

    Dan,

I believe they are preset so you just bolt it on in the 'N' position. The first time you shift it it will break a small plastic tit that holds it into position. Once this happens it becomes adjustable. If it's out of adjustment it's easy to adjust. If it won't start in 'N' then you just have to move it till it does.
