Not in Alaska, but I'll tell you a story about an amazing woman who drove 5000 miles from Raleigh, NC to Anchorage, AK in the middle of November, in a Ford Focus, in six days... That would be my wife... Why? Her sister needed a ride home. She doesn't like to drive and was terrified of making the trip, so my wife drove her home (in her sister's car) and they flew her back.
