    Default Transmission problems [Expired Topic]

I have a 95 Suburban K1500 4l60e trans. The transmission is not shifting properly. The engine will red line taking off If I let off the gass pedal momentarily it will sometimes shift. I checked the fuse it is good but I am only getting 4-5 volts at the fuse. Shouldnt I be getting 12+. I checked the fluid it smelled horrable. I changed the fluid & filter and it changed nothing. Any help would be great.
    Thanks!

    Smelled like burned almonds?

Trany is toast, get a new one.

Sorry but from the sounds of it it is not good.

Not sure, Bad ground on trany maybe.

Bring it in to a trany shop for a free inspection and get an estimate they may be able to tell you.

These new tranys have more electrical crap in them than a electric sub station. They have electrically operated relays, solenoids, and other stuff i wonder how they work at all.

But the bad smelling fluid is a sign of burnt clutches.

What kind of ans. is that?

All fuses are labeled, what does it say it's for?

If its not on the box itself it's on the inside of the cover.

20 amp is that what you mean?

My 94 does not have numbers on the block just what it goes to, check your owners manual for what the fuse goes to.

As I said before bring it to a trany shop and have them check it out, but I'm sure from what you said the trany is shot.

You will need to replace it or have it rebuilt. Check on dealer prices for a goodwrench, that way you have a lifetime warrenty.
