    Default Who's got a Malibu?

I think the new Malibu is pretty hot realy for a sedan, I'll be looking at them pretty soon and would love to see one in the driveway.

By far the best looking design in years! I've owned a few Malibus in the past (1971 & 1974) and they were very good cars, but the new design is great!

The wife is currently driving a 2008 Malibu. Pretty nice ride...

Seats four very comfortably, back row has plenty of leg room.

The V6 has great acceleration. Audio system is very good.

Mileage has been around 24mpg city and 30mpg highway.

    It loves to go fast.
    Pavement sucks...

Very old thread, but they are all old in this malibu forum. Need more foot traffic here...

We have a 2009 Malibu LTZ and have had a great experience. The car is soild, quiet, sporty, fast, and economical... not sure but I could probably come up with a few more adjatives... LOL. I have put 16K on the clock in less than a year and no complaints for my daily driver. I would definately go with the 3.5 V6 since the fuel mileage is not too far off from the 4cyl and the power is real nice. Great car for the money and it will be interesting to see the next model in 2012.

I'm helping my sister pick out a new car, and she's leaning pretty strongly towards a 2010 Malibu. She's more "frugal" than I am, so definitely not looking at the LTZ, which as I understand is the only trim level that offers the V6. I'm pretty sure she'll at least get an LT though, which would have the 6-speed transmission but just the I4. Her foot is also not as heavy as mine so I'm thinking that should be adequate. They are definitely sharp looking cars, and I'm proud that she's looking at a Malibu as opposed to a Toyota or Honda or something.

You can get the V6 in the LS and LT as well. I have the V6 with the A6 (six speed auto) and it has been great. Gets pretty close to the mileage on the I4 A6. I commute 140 miles (RT) of open rolling highway and some city driving and I average 25-28 mpg depending on the wind. The wind on the plains can either be your friend or your enemy. With the V6 the car down ****s alot less. I commute with another guy that has the I4 A4 and his gets 28-30 mpg but it seems to down shift alot on the hills. With the A6 trans with the paddle shifters, I can hold the trans in 6th and keep it from down shifting on the rolling hills. I have racked up 16K in 11 months and the car has been great.

My wife runs an '09 LT. We really like it. It has the 4 banger. I agree with Sandhopper... go with the V6. Mileage is close to the 4 and although the 4 has decent performance, the V6 has to be better. I'm sure it would not have to work as hard as the 4 cylinder. After 20k miles, we have no complaints.

The Malibu has been selling very well in California, I read on an article. In fact the Malibu has seen its sales top last July.
