The Check engine light came on the other day ,plugged in the OBD reader ,cross referenced to the handy Engine code list sticky at the top of this forum ,read # P0332 -knock sensor 2 circuit low input, bank 2.I've got three questions.
What is it?
What does it do?
How do I fix it?
Info greatly appreciated.

What year truck is it?
That is the same code I just dealt with. It is a bad catalytic converter. The good thing is, newer cats are covered nationally by the government for 8 years, well in the US that is. It took my dealer a week to get the new cat in and about 4 hours to put it on. Hope this helps.
Also, don't clear the code as the dealership has to have the code reporting from the PCM/ECM.

The knock sensor contains a piezoelectric crystal which can hear a knock from your engine.
The knock sensor listens for detonation but it hears all unusual knocking noises.
When the knock sensor hears a knock it tells the PCM. The PCM trys to stop the knock by retarding your timing. It can inhibit 4th gear and lock-up if necessary. The PCM then sets a Code.
To fix it you have to determine whats knocking. A lean condition can cause a real knock condition as can timing. A belt tensioner, lifter, exhaust leak, boom box stereo can cause false knock conditions.

Thanks for the info guys.I was hoping the problem might be with the sensors , the code # suggests low input to bank 2.I priced out the sensors at $75 ea.,the wiring harness at $50 and the intake gasket set at over $200!Not sure about the cat converter but I'll definately check for noises before I spend the coin and time to pull the intake.
If you had a scanner you could bring up the knock sensor PID and watch the feedback. The data should change instantly as you tap on the manifold with a 3/4" wrench or the like. So you would be able to tell if the sensor is working. If both sensors are working there would be no reason to change them.
