Tailgate guard

Where can a person pick-up a tailgate guard? Not a cap, my 2004 ext cab Silverado came with a good tailgate cap. I want to protect the rest of the tailgate with an ABS type cover,

are you talking about the bed side of the tailgate or the bumper side?
if you are talking about the bed side, just go to lowes and get yourself some diamond plate and cut it down to size. if you have access to a metal shear/break, then this will be super easy. otherwise, i would suggest a grinder with a cutoff wheel and a good steady hand. to attach it, i would recommend stainless steel screws and 3m double sided tape

most truck accessory place will have them. if they sell the bed liners they will have the liner for the tailgate also. last time i bought one they were about $35.
