    Default 2 flat tires!

Hi. Just bought a 2009 1500 Sierra 4wd, crewcab, SLE. It comes with 17" passenger tires!!! I drive a lot of rocky roads and have had to replace 2 tires, with less then 7,000 miles on the truck!!! First flat replaced at 1500 miles, 2nd flat at 7,000 miles. Both tires had slit across the belt. Not patchable. Any one have the same problem? Did GMC put yuck tires on an off road truck (I paid extra for 17: on-off road tires!) for cost containment, better gas mileage, or why??? Really don't care why, just wondering if a common problem and how I can get GMC to pay out! Thanks

Welcome to t he site! I have not heard of anyone having a problem with "OEM" tires in al long time. I don't think it is a "common" problem, good luck anyway!

You might want to check with the dealer on warranty for those tires, almost every new car I've seen in the last few years had warranty for the tires. Check your paperwork and owners manual for something also.

    Default 2 flat tires

Thanks for requesting more information! The tires that came standard are the Goodyear Wrangeler ATS, 265/70/17. I checked the warranty and they say 'no road hazard' I am certain they will say that this is a road hazard, and I am not smart enough to know what to say to change their mind. I guess the main problem is/was that I live in the AZ desert and drive rocky road daily. But, that is why I got the 4wd and off road package.... I appreciate any help!

Yep without road hazard I dont think they'll help ya, it's not about being smart enough to know what to say theres simply no way to get around the lack of road hazard warranty. My wifes 08 HHR has road hazard but I dont remember if we paid separately when we opted for the 17" tires or if it was included in the tire package.
Goodyears are a good tire and GM uses them on every new car and truck they build, Wranglers are an above average tire. I've run a few sets over the years, the only problem I ever had with them was on a 91 Jeep Wrangler, I kept tearing out the sidewalls, that was because of the terrain I was running them in, completely my fault.
I would suspect your just having a run of bad luck with tires. I'm sure thats hard to swallow when you see the price of a replacement tire and I cant blame ya.
Unfortunately when purchasing 1 tire they usually wont let you purchase road hazard unless the other tires are covered too. So the only option you have at this point is to wait until its time to purchase new tires and opt for road hazard at that time.

I dislike goodyear tires... I am switching over to Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's before the end of the year
