    Default 2003 Silverado front end Humming Noise

    Hello all,
    New to the forum. I just replaced the drivers side bearing hub assembly on my 2003 Chevy Silverado. I have a humming noise when driving that stops while turning left, taking the weight off the drivers side tire. So I assumed the bearings. however, after replacing the bearings I still have the humming noise. What else could be wrong?? I did notice a clicking noise from the differential when replacing the bearings. When I turned the wheel the differential would "click"?

    maybe it wasnt a bearing, do you have 2 or 4 wheel drive?
    2000 silverado with a 5.3l v8, shorty headers, upgraded plugs, 10 mil wires, magnaflow high flow cats, flowmaster 80 series muffler(2 in 2 out) w/ 18 inch stainless silverline tips. i have a k&n CIA. its a 4x4 z71 offroad package. Ls model.
    extended cab 160k miles, truxedo low profile bed cover, diablo sport predator tuner.
    reman tranny @ 130k miles

    My apologies, meant to tell everyone I have a 4-wheel drive. I'm guessing there is something wrong with the front differential?

    Default noise

    Sounds like it is coming from the constant velocity joints.

    Was this problem ever resolved because I have the same clicking noise?

    Most of the time it is the bearings and it is CRITICAL to torque the axle nut properly or the new besring will quickly die. Also the chinese bearings on ebay or anywhere below like $100 will not last. I use timken and have not had an issue.
    01' 1500 LT Z71 ECSB 5.3L
    line-x'd front brush guard with KC Daylighters, 6000k HID lows and highs, rewired highbeams, Trans-go mild shift kit, custom stainless duals, 3500 dually OEM taillights, K&N CAI. Still have OEM fender flairs and leveling kit in boxes waiting for time.

    Two questions though:What is the proper torque for the axle nut and do the bearings come out from the inside or out(meaning do I have to take the diff apart to get the bearing out)?
