How do I check the front differential fluid level in a 2001 Suburban 1500 4WD?

You check it through the fill plug on the drivers side. You may have to remove the skid plate to gain access.. Remove the fill plug and the fluid should be right at the bottom of the fill hole. You can stick your little finger in the hole to check the level if the fluid doesn't run out.
