Hi, new and have a question about Navigation

I have a 99 Chevy crew cab diesel dually 4X4 that I bought new. I recently bought a 07 GMC Envoy and bought a navigation unit for it that won't work due to a LUX vs non LUX compatibility.

I am thinking of putting this navigation unit into the dually. It looks like the navigation unit should fit so I am going to attempt to put it in the truck.

My question is, has anyone else tried this yet? I'm afraid I am going to run into a vin incompatibility issue with the newer anti theft features and will try to work around them. I have a standard am/fm/cassette/cd unit in the truck now. I'm assuming it has a built in amp so I will have to come up with a amplifier for the navigation. I'm willing to take a chance doing this. What do you think?

Edit to add: I answered my own question. Although it would physically fit in the hole there would be gaps on the side of the dash panel and the height of the dash panel opening wouldn't be right. I won't go any farther from there. Thanks for reading...
